On Android, it is designed to serve as your default messaging and dialler app — unifying your SMS, call history, and encrypted conversations in one place. On iOS and Web, it provides the same encrypted communication experience tailored to each platform's capabilities.

Our Principles

Privacy by Design

Every feature is built with privacy as the primary consideration. We don't collect data we don't need, and what we do process is protected with industry-leading encryption. Zero telemetry, zero data sharing.

User Control

Users decide whether to sync messages across devices, whether to enable contact discovery, and how to manage their data and account. Encrypted features are opt-in via settings — never forced. Your choices, always respected.

Transparency

Clear, honest privacy policy. Open about our security practices and the cryptographic protocols we use. No hidden data collection or sharing. We believe trust is earned through transparency.

No Advertisements

Cyfero will never display advertisements. Our revenue model is based on optional VoIP PSTN calling subscriptions — not selling user attention, data, or analytics.

Our Technology

Encryption: Signal Protocol

Cyfero's end-to-end encryption for messaging, voice calls, and video calls is built on an independent implementation of the Signal Protocol. We implement the X3DH (Extended Triple Diffie-Hellman) key agreement protocol and the Double Ratchet algorithm based on the openly published protocol specifications. This provides forward secrecy and post-compromise security for all encrypted communications between Cyfero users.

Cyfero is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with Signal Messenger LLC or the Signal Technology Foundation. "Signal Protocol" refers to the openly published cryptographic protocol specifications.

Signalling Server

Our signalling server, written in Rust for performance and memory safety, acts purely as a relay — routing encrypted data it cannot decrypt. User identifiers are stored exclusively as irreversible cryptographic hashes, ensuring the server cannot recover your phone number or email address even with full database access. The server maintains no message history and holds no decryptable user content.

Transport Security

Beyond application-layer encryption, Cyfero implements transport-layer hardening including TLS 1.3 with certificate pinning, encrypted DNS resolution (DoH), and WebSocket frame padding for traffic normalisation. Mobile clients support configurable proxy settings and dynamic endpoint discovery for resilient connectivity in restrictive network environments.

VoIP PSTN Calling

The optional VoIP subscription service connects Cyfero apps to the public switched telephone network (PSTN), enabling users to make and receive calls to regular phone numbers worldwide. This service uses standard telephony infrastructure with recurring billing and self-service subscription management via the Cyfero management portal. VoIP PSTN calls traverse the public telephone network and are separate from Cyfero's Signal Protocol-based encrypted calling feature.

Infrastructure

We operate our own infrastructure in privacy-respecting jurisdictions, with no reliance on third-party services for message routing or storage. All services are built from scratch for Cyfero — no third-party analytics, no external tracking, no data sharing.

Our Business Model

Cyfero's core communication features — encrypted messaging, voice calls, and video calls — are free for all users. We believe private communication should be accessible to everyone.

Revenue is generated through optional VoIP PSTN calling subscriptions for users who need to reach regular phone numbers. This model ensures that our incentives are aligned with our users: we succeed when we provide a service worth paying for, not by monetising user data.

There are no advertisements in Cyfero. There never will be. User data is not a revenue stream — it is a responsibility.
